The day consists of a number of talks, with slide illustration, demonstrations of practical equipment and apiary visits at the end of the afternoon. Books and magazines are there to see, and there will be time for questions. It is intensive and you may find it useful to take notes during the day.
The course will cover all you need to start beekeeping,or as a refresher and will give you a good basis to make your decision if beekeeping is for you.
Bring suitable footwear if you intend to visit the apiaries – over long grass.
The course costs £20 and includes a hot and cold lunch and drinks refreshments through the day. You are of course welcome to bring your own food or alternatively the George provides food. But the lunch break is short.
