Burton Branch of Derbyshire Beekeeping has been running for many years. We are not sure what year it was founded, but honey show records go back to 1954.
Although Burton on Trent is in all other respects part of Staffordshire when it comes to Beekeeping we are affiliated to Derbyshire BKA.
Although we come under the DBKA umbrella Burton Branch operates independently. We look after our own finances run our own Honey Show and organise our own events and meetings, though members are perfectly entitled to attend those arranged by Derbyshire as well.
Our membership is not for Burton only, but extends into East Staffordshire, North West Leicestershire and South Derbyshire.
We accept membership from beekeepers anywhere in the surrounding area which also entitles you to take advantage of what the BBKA can offer.
Our events occur throughout the year as detailed in the Programme and from time to time we arrange Open Meetings on a variety of subjects usually suggested by the Membership. These will be advertised on this Web Page and members are notified via our e mail “round robin” system.
