Observing a colony inspection

Margaret Cowley, an international beekeeping writer and photographer, runs beekeeping courses several times a year for people who're interested in learning the basics of beekeeping to a stage where they can confidently start keeping their own bees.

The course takes place over several weeks at various venues, usually for a few hours. Each week's lesson involves a mix of classroom based learning and practical activities such as hive building, honey extraction and common colony manipulations involving live bees.

Each week you'll recieve study materials for the subject covered that week, which will build up over the course into a folder of material that you will be able to refer back to in the first few years of your beekeeping.
